We understand than many contractors in South of Tyne & Wear have received a letter from Covidien saying that Telfa & Telfa Island have been added to the local community formulary and warning pharmacies to make sure they have stock.
In fact, Telfa & Telfa Island dressings have NOT been added to the formulary in NHS South of Tyne & Wear and our understanding is there is no intention of adding these products at present.
Apparently they have been added to the Newcastle formulary, so letters should have gone to North of Tyne pharmacies only.
