ST CCG wishes to commission palliative care services from up to a further 6 pharmacies, in addition to the current 2 sites.

Pharmacies will now be remunerated £300 pa as a retainer fee, to hold the palliative care medication list.

Any medications which expire will be remunerated at cost price by the CCG, upon receipt of the empty boxes and claim from.

Any pharmacies wishing to be considered please contact our secretary Louise Lydon by end of business 13/2/2020.

Would you be interested in some off site health promotional sessions in South Tyneside this month?

The Melissa health bus requires community pharmacists / pharmacy health champions to deliver health education and interventions, such as Microspirometry (remunerated @£10 each, plus off site fee available), AliveCor checks, BP checks and so forth.

Could you help us improve NHS support for people with long-term conditions?

Health leaders are calling on South Tyneside residents with diabetes, heart conditions or COPD to help improve the support services provided by the NHS locally.

South Tyneside CCG, working with South Tyneside & Sunderland NHS FT and South Tyneside Council, are inviting patients and their families to share their views and help to shape these services for the future.

Health staff will be out and about on the NHS’s specially designed double decker ‘Melissa bus’ during February:

Monday 24th February
·         9.30am - 12noon, South Tyneside District Hospital
·         1.30pm - 4.00pm, Hebburn Central

Wednesday 26th February
·         9.30am - 12 noon, Boldon ASDA
·         1.30pm - 4.00pm, Jarrow Morrison’s

Thursday 27th February
·         All day - King Street, South Shields

PQS - Declarations can now be made

Community pharmacy contractors are now able to make a declaration for a Pharmacy Quality Scheme (PQS) payment for the 2019/20 Scheme.
Contractors must use the NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) Manage Your Service portal to make their PQS declaration between 9am on 3rd February 2020 and 11.59pm on 28th February 2020.
On the day of making their declaration, contractors will be required to declare that they meet the four gateway criteria and that they meet the domains they are claiming payment for (except if they plan to meet the Sugar Sweetened Beverages quality criterion by 31st March 2020).
PSNC Briefing 004/20: Pharmacy Quality Scheme – Completing your declaration (January 2020) provides further information on how to make a declaration and the validation process for the gateway criteria; contractors are strongly encouraged to read this.
