Pharmacies will be aware that NHS England has still not published the paperwork for the national clinical audit on the emergency supply of medicines. The first audit period was due to begin on Monday morning but the delay in the publication of the paperwork now makes this impossible. PSNC has advised the NHS that the audit due to begin on March 9th cannot go ahead. **** UPDATE *****
Message from NHS England Sub Region 2014/15 NATIONAL AUDIT: Emergency supply of medicines We have just received the following message from the national team around the audit which was scheduled to start phase 1 on Monday. Unfortunately due to issues out of our control, we have not been able to publish today the guidance on how to complete this audit. Therefore its agreed with PSNC that the pharmacies due to participate in phase 1 from 9th will not be required to on Monday. PSNC have issued comms themselves to contractors to confirm this has been delayed and we expect to update on Monday. http://psnc.org.uk/our-news/national-clinical-audit-important-update/ The expectation is that phase 1 will be delayed for one week to start on 16th, and phase 2 will remain as it is on 23rd (so there will be some overlap between the 2 separate consultations). Formal comms and (hopefully) publication of the guidance will occur on Monday next week.
