Lipitor Chewable Tablets
Atorvastatin Chewable tablets (LIPITOR) have been added to the formulary in Gateshead.
They should be prescribed where possible instead of liquid Simvastatin which is a special. If you do receive a prescription for liquid Simvastatin please contact the GP to check that the prescribing GP is aware of this change in formulary.
Vitamin BPC and Vitamin B Compound Preparations
Due new NICE guidance the practice pharmacists in Gateshead will be reviewing the prescribing of both VITAMIN BPC and VITAMIN B COMPOUND preparations. This review will lead to a reduction in the number of patients receiving these preparations so pharmacists are advised to start to reduce their stock levels accordingly
Pivmecillinam 200mg Tablets (Selexid)
Gateshead Medicines Management Committee has asked that pharmacies in Gateshead stock PIVMECILLINAM 200mg tablets ( SELEXID ).It is not anticipated that there will a high demand but it will be an URGENT prescription item.
