The services currently provided by pharmacies need to be re-commissioned by a tender process in line with other council contracts.
The LPC has been working with the council to make this process as easy as possible for pharmacies. As a consequence a Pharmoutcomes module has been developed to aid this process.
Gateshead council are opening up this tender to all pharmacies in Gateshead including those who did not offer the services previously. We believe this is a great opportunity for pharmacy contractors.
The 5 services that are now being re-commissioned are
- EHC
- NHS Health Checks
- Smoking Intervention
- NRT Supply
- Supervised Consumption.
The process for existing providers as well as new providers is as follows.
- Gateshead Pharmacies will now have a new service in their pharmoutcomes service list titled “Gateshead Public Health Contract Opportunity”
