Pharmacy Contractors, last night, voted 80% in favour of the LPC setting up a provider company to bid for local pharmacy services on behalf of contractors. As you will know Gateshead and South Tyneside LPC, along with our colleagues in Co Durham and Darlington LPC and North of Tyne LPC have been exploring the options of forming a provider company. A vote and EGM was held jointly where 80% of contractors voting across the three LPC areas voted in favour. This now allows the LPC’s to proceed with the formation of PSNE Ltd (Pharmacy Services North East). The company will be used as a vehicle by the LPC’s to work with the ever changing NHS to ensure that Community Pharmacy is able to bid for services in the future. More information about the company and membership details will be published shortly. The votes for the three LPC areas were as follows..
