Richard Copelans (LPN Chair for Northumberland, Tyne & Wear) has asked us to send the following message out to Pharmacy contractors with reference to the recent Call to Action events.
Dear Colleague,
It was very encouraging to have so many attendees at the "Community Pharmacy - Call to Action" events across Northumberland, Tyne and Wear. It was especially rewarding to have the input not only of community pharmacy teams, but all pharmacy sectors, plus general practitioners, councillors and members of Healthwatch.Thank you to all involved, and particular thanks to the facilitators at each event.
Below is the summary of feedback which was sent on behalf of the Area Team. I know that many of you were not able to attend the events, but hopefully the summary will reflect some views which you may have wished to put forward.
As I said at the events, this is only the start of a process of engagement, leading to improvements in care for the people we serve. As well as national initiatives and changes, there is a need to drive changes and improvements locally; there may be barriers, but these must be overcome.
I will keep you all briefed on the plans for improvement during this year.
Yours sincerely,
Richard
