The NHS England Sub Region has decided on which public health campaigns they expect pharmacies to promote this year. Please see below the message from NHS England Sub Region. The message is self explanatory. Should you have any further queries please contact the Sub region.
NOTICE FROM NHS ENGLAND-NORTH ( Cumbria and North East)
The 6 Public Health Campaigns that Pharmacies are to follow to 31 March 2016 are:
1. Change for Life- with promotion of physical activity therein- July/August 15
2. Be Clear on cancer – incl breast cancer and over 70’s- July 15
3. Stoptober – Sept-Oct 15
4. Flu-Sept –Dec 15
5. Dry January- Jan 16
6. Sexual health-Sept 15 – linked to sexual Health week in Septembe
If any pharmacies have ran a Public Health campaign on ‘ Be Clear on Cancer ‘ in the May 15 period further to recent communications to get things moving, this will count as one of the 6, therefore no 2 not required above. I trust this clarifies the position.
We are expecting a link Public Health communications officer to be forwarded to us for each local authority area so that pharmacies can gain some support and possibly access resources. We are awaiting this information from the local public health communications group which covers the North East; NHS England – North will endeavour to get the equivalent support for the Cumbria area.
