Substance Misuse Update - 29th April 2024

The LPC is holding a Substance Misuse Services Training event on
Monday 29th April 2024 at The Clarion Hotel in Boldon at 6.30pm.

This will be an excellent update on Drug and Alcohol services locally and an opportunity to learn more about the new services being launched imminently. The event will be packed with information, updates, and a wide range of guest speakers.
 
The agenda includes:

• Both Gateshead and South Tyneside Councils, talking about prevalence, unmet need and local priorities.
• Updates on Nitazenes - Highly potent synthetic opioids.
• Coroner’s report on drug related deaths.
• Naloxone administration and supply  - Click here for service details
• Brief Alcohol Intervention services  - Click here for service details
• A breakout session with service updates from Humankind and CGL operating in South Tyneside and Gateshead respectively.
• A Q&A session to the panel to finish.

 
This training event is open to all pharmacists, foundation year pharmacists, locums and key staff involved in substance misuse services.

Refreshments and light tea will be available from 6pm with the training event starting at 6:30pm and finishing around 8.30/9pm.
