Pharmacy Future 2016
As you will know the government has announced a series of proposals to combine funding cuts with a set of proposals for productivity gains. The proposals rest upon an unproven evidence base and ignore the truly transformational opportunities in community pharmacy. Most worrying of all, they imply that pharmacy is just a distribution mechanism for product – rather than a valuable health and social care asset at the heart of communities. The proposals pose an existential threat to as many as 3000 pharmacies which would cause a loss of a valuable services to the community they serve. |
The national bodies are working on our behalf to challenge the current direction of DH/NHS policy. Locally Gateshead & South Tyneside LPC have put together this page to help keep you abreast of the latest information and news as well as details of campaigns and resources to help you get involved. It is more important than ever that all pharmacy contractors and pharmacists get involved to help demonstrate to the government the good work that is done in pharmacy and that there plans are wrong.
Don't forget you can contact us if you ideas for local action or need any support. We are fully committed this campaign.
