What Can You Do?
Campaign to secure the future for Community Pharmacy
The Government has announced a series of proposals to combine funding cuts with a set of proposals for productivity gains. Most people in the profession believe the proposals rest upon an unproven evidence base and ignore the truly transformational opportunities in community pharmacy. Most worrying of all, they imply that pharmacy is just a distribution mechanism for product – rather than a valuable health and social care asset at the heart of communities.
The national bodies are working on our behalf to challeng the current direction of DH/NHS policy – which is a drift away from maximising the potential of the community pharmacy network. Locally you can help by getting involved.
The NPA are leading on a campaign opposing the government proposals and have put together some excellent resources to help. These are open to all pharmacies (Not just Members of the NPA) and the LPC would encourage you to get involved.
Gateshead & South Tyneside LPC will add resources to to our website to help you. All information and resources regarding this issue will be posted on out dedicated webpage www.gandstlpc.net/pharmacyfunding2016.html
