North East Pharmacy Conference

Gateshead & South Tyneside LPC along with the other LPC’s in region worked together with the RPS North East to put on a conference in the area to allow pharmacists the opportunity to hear and discuss any issues around department of healths proposals with the leaders of our national bodies.

The conference was held on Sunday 28th February 2016 and was well attended. We had speakers from PSNC, NPA, RPS and CCA. Sandra Gidley - RPS

Sandra Gidley is the Chair of the English Pharmacy Board of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society. She started the day with a talk about the future of Pharmacy and the RPS's response to the Department of Healths Consultation. The slides from her presentation can be download below

Nanette Kerr - CCA

Nanette Kerr is the Chief Executive of the CCA (Company Chemists Association. She presented next with an overview of the Pharmacy Voice response to the department of health. Her slide and supporting documents can be downloaded below.

Sue Sharpe - PSNC

Sue Sharrpe is Chief Executive Officer of the PSNC. She spoke about the letter from the department of health and the PSNC's repsonse as well as an update of current discussions and actions that are taking place now. Her slides can be downloaded below.

Ian Strachan - NPA

Ian Strachan is the chair of the NPA and was oour final speaker and spoke to the delegates via a video link. Spoke about the NPA campaign which is supported by the PSNC and encouraged all pharmaccists and staff to get behind it. He talked about the differenc elements of the campaign and what we can do.
