Gateshead & South Tyneside Local Pharmaceutical Committee represents all Pharmacy contractors regardless of company (including multiples and independents). Our committee is made up from a representative sample to reflect the mix of pharmacies in the area.

Our vision is to embed community pharmacy contractors fully into local primary and public health care by providing representation, training and support to contractors, developing services with stakeholders and promoting community pharmacy at every opportunity - to ensure the public of Gateshead & South Tyneside maximise community pharmacy’s potential.
Our Mission
Our mission is to support community pharmacy contractors to deliver excellence in pharmacy services across Gateshead and South Tyneside by ensuring positive representation to the NHS and wider commissioning bodies. We will be advocates for community pharmacy, ensuring sustainable funding for the pharmaceutical services our contractors provide. We will encourage service level uptake and quality in all services delivered, by providing timely communications, relevant training, and accessible support to all our contractors.
We will continue to trail blaze innovative services, develop local healthcare solutions, tailoring service delivery to local needs as well as being responsive and influential within the wider healthcare system. We are proud of our profession, our contractors and pharmacy teams and in turn we will always represent community pharmacy robustly and with best interests at heart in all we do.
